The Allotment - 26th May 2003

Preparing for main crops and some earlies in full flow.

At this stage we have a Lettuce abundance, so don't be surprised if we come to see you and bring some crops we have too much of.

Those who say there is reducing numbers of bees and birds should come over these allotments where they are in abundance.

If you compare some of the pictures with those for 13th April or 3rd May, the amount of growth is noticeable.

Looking down from above the top of the top bed, Redcurrant bush after being propped up to support the weight. Now the Rhubarb at the top actually will get some light.

Strawberry bed in the foreground has two rows of earlies then main crop and then early crop. the Earlies are already in full fruiting and may well soon be ready for picking if this week is as sunny and warm as they have forecast.
